Why are we talking about serving?
There’s bad news: The usual church volunteering roles aren’t being filled in the usual ways.
But there’s also good news: Jesus is still the head of the church. He’s gifted and called each of us to serve.
While people have less time for traditional volunteering, they still desire to make a difference and are willing to give time and talent to causes they care about.
How we’ll respond: We’re not going to rely on the “same old, same old” when it comes to volunteering. We’re shifting to ways of thinking and acting that line up with God’s Word, that are “best practices” in volunteer engagement in the 21st century, and that will help us lead others to a full life in Christ and see lives and communities transformed as we become more like Jesus.
