First Communion Class
Has your child been asking you when they can take communion?
Have you been struggling to answer them or explain why they can't?
We've found that many students, starting in the later elementary grades, are both interested and ready to start taking communion. At this point in their cognitive and faith development, they are increasingly excited to participate in the sacred rites of the church and have been paying attention for some time to what you and the other "grown ups" have been doing.
You and your child are invited to join Pastor Randy Rozelle for our First Communion Class! Designed for students starting in 5th grade, this 2 hour class is a lively, informative opportunity for students and their parents to discuss their faith and the special gift we call "Communion" that Jesus has given us.
WORKSHOP #1 - First Communion Class
Confirmation Workshop #1 will take place early in March from 6:30-8:00 pm in the Sanctuary. This workshop is open to all students in 5th Grade and up. Once your son/daughter completes this workshop on Holy Communion, he/she may partake in the Lord's Supper in any of our worship services. Traditionally, many youths at St. Peter receive their first communion during Maundy Thursday worship, but parents and youth are free to decide when the right time for that special moment with Jesus is. As a reminder, St. Peter students cover the workshops in our religion curriculum. Public school students must complete all six confirmation workshops by Reformation weekend of their freshman year.
