Temptation’s Doorstep

Whenever we face temptation, it’s like we’re face-to-face with a door marked Temptation. The door is closed, maybe even cracked a tiny bit. On the other side of the door is a sin. Satan, like a master used-car salesman, tells us whatever he can to get us to open that door and walk through. He wants us to believe that it’s the best choice, and that the pleasure/payout will actually be worth the price. He even tempted Jesus with three very lucrative doors. However, whatever is on the other side of that door is always less than God’s best for us, a trap door in fact. Jesus defeated temptation’s door…He never went through, not even once. And as we stand and face our doors, He promises His children victory and a way of escape to endure it!
