Sin’s Spiral

As we strive to live out our freedom in Christ, our own desires and cravings like to combine with sin and temptation in a [downward] spiral that goes round and round. Have you noticed a tendency in you and others to repeat the same sins? Spirals can be generational - harmful patterns of attitudes, choices, and behaviors that get passed from one generation to the next. Spirals are also personal. When times get tough, we find ourselves turning to familiar sins, outlets, and habits, even though we know they’re harmful. Either way, these spirals need to be broken, and in Jesus, they can! He works conviction - not condemnation - in us and leads us to freedom via the path of salvific surrender.
