Commitment: Family Mortar
What is love, and what does it mean to have love in your home? This world offers many definitions for love, including warm feelings for, intimacy with, being happy with, etc,. In the Bible, the closest meaning for love is commitment. “God so loved (i.e., was so committed to) the world that He gave His only Son.” Or: “Love the Lord your God (i.e., be so committed to) with all your heart, soul, mind and strength…and love (be so committed to) your neighbor as yourself.” A home, then, that is built on Jesus, is framed with love - with a commitment to the marriage, to each family member, and the resolve with Christ to endure. Love is the mortar that bonds the Christian home together.
