Your New Wardrobe in Christ
One of the things my wife and I love to do in late summer is shop for some new clothes. Clothes get too big, too small, dirty, worn out, and just need to be replaced. Plus, there’s something life-giving about a new shirt, dress, pants, or shoes. In Jesus, God has fitted us with an entirely new wardrobe - His perfect holiness and righteousness! Therefore, Paul calls us daily to remove the old clothes of sexual immorality, covetousness, anger, wrath, malice, slander and dirty talk that want to cling tightly to our flesh, and in Christ, to daily put on compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, patience, forgiveness, and love. There’s just something about new clothes!
