Your Beautiful Church in Christ

We can only imagine what it must have been like for this young church in a “had been” but now small, insignificant town to receive an actual letter from the hand of Paul! More than that, we can only imagine their response as they read Paul’s opening words to them. Paul prays for them? Paul actually admires THEIR faith in Jesus and their love for the saints?

Paul holds them up as a beautiful example of those who’ve heard the word of truth, the gospel, and how the gospel is bearing fruit and increasing in little Colossae? One would think Colossae to be Paul’s only spiritual grandchildren he’s bragging on!!!

In Christ, these words are 100% true of St. Peter, too - in spite of our own brokenness and recent rough times. We also have been delivered from the domain of darkness and transferred into the kingdom of Christ. In Christ, we have redemption and forgiveness of sins, meaning we’re just as beautiful too!
