Mercy in Palms
Our big word today is “processions.” We know processions: parades, military celebrations, presidential motorcades, homecomings - even funerals. The Bible had processions too: Ark of the Cov’t, Jericho, Jerusalem festivals, etc. Today we wave palm branches to reenact Jesus’ welcome into Jerusalem; His procession begins His mission of mercy for all people. Friday ends with a procession too - Jesus being led to the cross for the salvation of our souls. Because His procession ended in victory on Easter, we look forward in hope to our final procession: the saints gathered around His throne with palm branches in hand praising the eternal salvation of our God. (Rev 7:9-10).
