The First and Last Word!

While fellow Christians were suffering severe famine in Jerusalem, the Corinthian Christians essentially told Paul, “We cannot and will not participate in the financial ministry of the church.” The apostle Paul doesn’t pile on the guilt or lash out at them verbally, rather, he relies on the Gospel to change their hearts and giving habits. He begins and ends the first section on generosity with God’s grace! His grace changed the Macedonian believers, and he’s confident it’ll do the same in Corinth. God’s grace is always centered in Jesus Christ. Jesus gave it all for us, and His generosity reshapes us to do the same.
