Demand Never Depletes Supply!
In today’s section of 2 Corinthians, Paul likens generosity to scattering seed. In 1st century Palestine, farmers didn’t take a seed, dig a hole, and cover it up. For thousands of years, people wore knapsacks filled with seed on their shoulders. They’d walk through fields, grabbing handfuls of seed and scattering it. What an image of Christian generosity! God gives us seed in the first place (v10), and He promises fruitful yields whenever and wherever we share (v12). What a time, what an opportunity for us to scatter seed! Yes, the needs around us are great, but with God, demand never depletes supply (v8-9).
