Voters’ Meeting & Town Hall Meetings

Due to the tornadoes that went thru our area last weekend, the Voters’ Meeting was cancelled and has been rescheduled for SUNDAY, DECEMBER 8, immediately following the 10:45 am worship service.

Twice a year – in May and in November – the voting members of St. Peter gather to learn more about what is going on in our ministry and to conduct the business entrusted to them. In May, this involves approving the next fiscal year’s budget and electing members to the Governing Board. In November, this involves anything else that may have come up since May.

On Sunday, November 17, starting immediately after the second (10:45 am) service, all voting members of St. Peter are encouraged to attend our next Regular Voters’ Meeting. We will meet in the Sanctuary.

The agenda includes the following:

  • Updates on Ministry and our Strategic Direction
  • Extending a Peaceful Release to Andy Fritz, a teacher who has recently taken a call to teach at another school
  • Voting on Proposed Changes to our Constitution & Bylaws, which would allow for the existence of our recently established St. Peter Lutheran Foundation (approved by the Voters in May) and allowing the Governing Board to act on behalf of the Congregation with regard to Non-Tenured Calls.

Prior to the Regular Voters’ Meeting, we will host two Town Hall Meetings to discuss the matters at hand. These will take place at the following times:

– Sunday, November 3, immediately following the second (10:45 am) service, in the Sanctuary

– Monday, November 4, at 6:30 pm, in the Sanctuary

For those unable to attend either Town Hall Meeting, the following documents are available for you to read and consider. The first is the PowerPoint presentation used for the meeting. The second is the handout distributed at the meeting.
