Dear St. Peter,
May the Lord give His strength and peace to my home congregation! I hope that things at St. Peter are going well at the start of a new school year.
I wanted to write a note to my Christian family thanking you all for your continued support of Lisa and me throughout my seminary career, and updating you on how the Lord has been blessing us during this vicarage year.
So, firstly, thank you all for contributing your prayers and your resources to my education! It has been an incredible journey so far at seminary and now at vicarage. You are a blessing and an encouragement to me. May God bless every ministry at St. Peter Church and School the way you have blessed my education and now my ministry!
My vicarage at Immanuel Lutheran Church and School in St. Charles, Missouri, has been extremely rewarding, challenging, and exciting so far. I have only been at this church for about a month, but so much has happened already. I am blessed to be a part of a new college ministry that Immanuel has initiated at the nearby liberal arts college, Lindenwood University, St. Charles. Immanuel is the sponsor of a brand new and official recognized Lutheran Student Union at the campus. As the vicar, I get to go over to the college nearly every day, lead a weekly Bible study class, help start a week-night Lutheran worship in the college’s chapel, and reach out to nonbelievers in awesome fellowship events. I have started a “disc golf outreach” club through the Lutheran Student Union. It is a way to make friendships and bring the love of Jesus to unchurched college students in a very fun way! I thankfully have a lot of support and a lot of people who are helping me.
My prayer for St. Peter is that God will continue to bless your ministries and strengthen the faith of everyone. St. Peter has such a wonderful relationship with the Arlington Heights community – may God use this relationship to the glory and growth of His Kingdom!
So once again, thank you all for your prayers and continued financial support. St. Peter has helped me so much these last years and once again this year. God be with St. Peter Church and School.
Love, peace, and joy,
Adam & Lisa Carnehl
